$199,886.50 Bad Beat Jackpot Won At Presque Isle Downs & Casino
Erie, PA, November 9, 2013 — A losing hand in Presque Isle Downs & Casino’s poker room caused one “lucky” player to walk away with $99,943.26 from “losing”. The Bad Beat Jackpot at Presque Isle Downs & Casino was won by James of Saegertown, Pennsylvania. The bad beat jackpot occurs when a sufficiently strong hand is shown down and loses to an even stronger hand held by another player. At Presque Isle Downs & Casino the qualifier is Aces full of Kings (player must have pocket Aces).
This is the fourth Bad Beat Jackpot won since opening their poker room in October of 2011.
Joseph of Conneaut, Ohio won $49,971.64 for his “winning hand”. The remaining share was split among six players each winning $6,246. Jack of Petrolia, PA; Karen of Meadville, PA; Jerome II of Madison, OH; Donald of Erie, PA; Peter of Erie PA; Reginald of Cleveland, OH; Norman of Mentor, OH; and Joanne of Waterloo, Ontario Canada all shared in the $49,971 remaining.
The casino started the Bad Beat Jackpot to create more excitement around the game. And that strategy seems to be paying off in spades.
“The Bad Beat Jackpot was created to enhance the customer experience by providing an additional opportunity for the players to win,” said Mike Tamburelli, Presque Isle Downs & Casino VP and General Manager. “It is the second largest jackpot our poker room has seen since we opened and we’re glad to see ten very lucky players walk out with their share of over $199,000.”
The last bad beat jackpot was awarded in October 2012 when Justin of Grove City, PA won $139,271 and Edward of Erie, PA won $69,635. Eight other players won $8,704 each as part of the table share.
