2nd: (4) HERE COMES AVA –Has had seven tries to break her maiden here but she has five placings and rallied for second here last out going 5 ½ furlongs. Glenn Wismer wins 16% with his maiden special weight starters and 14% when he rides Addiel Ayala.
3rd: (3) GIVE ME SOME CANDY – Missed by a neck against maiden $40K claimers two starts back then ran poorly on the dirt last out.
1st: (8) UNFLINCHING – Horse for the course has a 44-11-10-10 record here and just missed two starts back against better. She raced evenly last out here and returns from a wide draw in a long sprint with Antonio Gallardo riding bac for Teresa Connelly – 28% together.
2nd: (6) CHEROKEE LIGHTNING – Did nothing in two straight starts on the dirt going this distance around two turns then came back and missed by a neck against this state-bred claiming level. Gerry Brooks wins 18% first start after a win and 24% with Luis Garcia.
3rd: (5) HYGH LIFE – Horse for the course showed good speed two starts back before weakening then rallied from off the pace to get up.
1st: (5) BARNACLE BILL – Had been running well on the dirt at Finger Lakes before shipping here and running well in all five starts on the Tapeta. He beat similar two starts back going a two-turn mile then rallied wide from way back to get up for this. Gallardo gets the mount.
2nd: (7) YOKED – Has yet to win here in six tries but has run well every time. He was a good third two starts back when he rallied from far back then raced closer to the pace last out. Joe Martin wins 14% with his claimers and 12% going long. Pablo Morales rides back.
3rd: (1) NOEYANDJIMMYSPOP – Broke his maiden first time out here then came back and beat similar claiming company with Ayala.
1st: (4) ERRATIC BEHAVIOR – Moved up to this claiming level in her first start off the claim by Joe Martin & her late rally fell a head short. She raced closer to the pace last out & was a good second going this distance. Martin wins 14% with his claimers and 18% with Morales.
2nd: (10) MELORA – Speedball sat just off the pace and won easily going a two-turn mile on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs then came back four months later and raced evenly against allowance foes. Daughter of PULPIT beat this class level here two years ago.
3rd: (1) STORM ON BYE – Horse for the course missed by a length two starts back and then won easily going 5 ½ furlongs against these.
1st: (7) ANATEVKA – Has raced evenly in each of her four starts here and she has good enough early speed to make the turn back to a long sprint. Kathy Babcock wins 13% with her claimers and the last 54 of them show a flat-bet profit. Luis Garcia rides back.
2nd: (8) HARD ON THE HEART – Didn’t do much when blinkers were added for the first time but she bounced back with a good win here going this distance. She raced evenly last out when shuffled back from an inside post and draws much better here with Jackie Davis.
3rd: (12) MAGICAL WANDA – Lost all chance two starts back when she broke dead last then came back and was a good second.
1st: (3) VICTORY BRINGER – Horse for the course showed good speed two starts back when stretched out to two turns then he broke behind the field last out and raced evenly from behind. Larry Hayes wins 12% with his claimers and 11% with his synthetic track starters.
2nd: (1) BOSS MAN BOB – Had been racing against open $5K claimers and now takes on conditioned ones off some even efforts. Son of HARD SPUN needs to break cleanly from here with Mario Pino who wins 21% with his sprint starters and he rode him to a win in July.
3rd: (8) CHOSEN HEIR – Drops down in class and distance off some dull efforts for Ryan Walsh who wins 16% with his claimers.
1st: (8) POISON ART – Had been racing against much better on the turf at Gulfstream Park then shipped here off short rest and missed by a head going 5 ½ furlongs for new trainer Ed Rojas who wins 19% first start after being beaten as the favorite and 18% with his claimers.
2nd: (7) THREADBARE ALIBI – Horse for the course lost all chance two starts back when she broke poorly from an inside post then she could not overcome post eleven going 5 ½ furlongs. She draws much better here and gets Antonio Gallardo back aboard.
3rd: (5) SIMPLY BELONGING – Broke poorly twice in a row here from post one and now draws post five and not get shuffled back.
1st: (9) GLITTER N’ JAZZ – Went gate to wire in a turf sprint at Mountaineer Park two starts back then tired there last out. If he shows that kind of speed here on the Tapeta, he will be hard to catch from the outside post. Antonio Gallardo picks up the mount.
2nd: (7) THE FAZZ MAN – Horse for the course speedball hasn’t been hanging on so he dropped down to this claiming level last out and he just missed after setting a blazing pace. Shelly Radosevich wins 15% with her claimers and is 3 for 8 when she uses Ron Allen, Jr.
3rd: (6) UNCAGED – Has shown an ability to come from just off the pace which would work perfectly here against this speedy group.
